Terms
Last updated 25 October 2026
By using Bargad you agree to these terms. They’re short on purpose.
Your tree is yours
You and your relatives own what you add. You can download a copy of your tree at any time (as a GEDCOM file, a Bargad backup, or a zip with every photo). We only use it to run Bargad for you and the people you invite.
Be fair to your family
- Add only what you have the right to share, and respect relatives who would rather not be included.
- Don’t use Bargad to harass anyone, or to store anything unlawful.
- The tree’s owner decides who is invited and which suggested changes are accepted.
Your account
Keep your sign-in secure. You’re responsible for what happens in trees through your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
The service
Bargad is free and offered as it is, with no guarantees. We work to keep it running and your data safe, and to fix problems quickly, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. Keep your own copy of anything important: downloading a backup takes a moment.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use Bargad after a change means you accept it.
